Name – Jill Ellis (@Greenlandpaddle)
Location – Dover Centre, Ontario, Canada
Years Paddling – 4 years seriously, often and on forever *L0L*
Favourite Paddle Craft – Wilderness Systems Tempest Pro 170, at moment using a Pungo140 (I love to fly fish from it, until my Cape Ann HV is finished). Will keep the Pungo after the Cape Ann is finished.
Greenland Paddle Suppliers – Owner of Adanac Paddles
Why do you like the GP – Because of the less stress on aging joints, and I like the feel of nicely oiled baby bare butt smooth wood in my hands.
Favourite place to paddle – Mitchell’s Bay off of Lake St Clair, Ontario
Most memorable paddle – Hitting a school of 3 ft carp in 1-1/2ft of water in a marsh. Was a wild ride for a few moments.
Most embarrassing paddling incident – Falling out of the kayak in 6” of water …don’t ask!!!
What is your dream paddle trip – To paddle across Lake Erie once I finish building my Cape Ann HV, from Canada to USA.
Final Comment – Get out there and have fun, dip your STICK!!!!

Great article .. what a wonderful craft to be able to practice !!!

Wow I am impressed.!!!! Great article.
Great profile and I also read your article about A Wee Bit of Paddle Info One Should Know. Thought it was GREAT!!!
So much to learn about GP’s.
Thanks
Jess
Hi Jill
First saw your profile here and I noticed a more in depth profile on ‘girlsoutdoors’ – Your paddles and rolling sticks are beautiful Jill.
While I’m sure there are other women out there carving traditional paddles, I dont know any – very cool!
